Support for young entrepreneurs in Serbia

Starting your own business is an exciting yet challenging endeavor, especially for young individuals who are just stepping into the world of entrepreneurship. A lack of financial resources often represents the main obstacle to turning ideas into reality, and access to favorable loans can be a decisive factor in this process. For this reason, the Development fund of the Republic of Serbia has announced a public call for a financial support program for young business starters.

This program aims to facilitate the initial steps for young entrepreneurs by providing favorable financing conditions. The total fund amounts to one billion dinars, and the funds are intended for entrepreneurs, micro, and small businesses registered after January 1, 2019. Additionally, founders and legal representatives must be between 20 and 35 years old. This requirement ensures that financial support reaches the right hands—those with vision but in need of an initial push for realization.

What can the funds be used for?

The funds from this program can be used for various business needs, including:
✔ Purchasing equipment
✔ Buying or renovating business premises
✔ Acquiring vehicles essential for business operations
✔ Financing working capital, which is particularly crucial for businesses in their early development stages.

Loan conditions

Loan amounts: Up to five million dinars
Repayment period: Up to 78 months, including a grace period of 18 months
Interest rate: 1.5% per year with a currency clause
For those providing a bank guarantee: Interest rate is even lower—only 1% per year

This financing model allows young entrepreneurs to gradually develop their businesses without significant financial burdens in the first years of operation.

Collateral requirements

Pledge or mortgage on the equipment or property being financed
Company promissory notes and personal promissory notes
For the portion of the loan used for permanent working capital, no additional collateral is required

This eases access to funding, which is particularly beneficial for startups and young companies that may not have substantial assets for securing a loan.

How to apply?
